According to the election of GRACE

I say then, Hath God cast away his people [Israel]? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying, Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace
-Romans 11:1-5

Through it all....God is good!!

I've had many tears and sorrows;
I've had questions for tomorrow;
There've been times I didn't know right from wrong;
But in eve'ry situation God gave blessed consolation
that my trials come to only make me strong.

Through it all, Through it all,
I have learned to Trust in Jesus,
I've learned to trust in God.
Through it all, Through it all,
I have learned to depend upon His Word.

I've been to lots of places,
And I've seen a lot of faces,
There've been times I felt so all alone;
But in my lonely hours,
yes, those precious lonely hours,
Jesus let me know that I was His own.

Through it all, Through it all,
I have learned to Trust in Jesus,
I've learned to trust in God.
Through it all, Through it all,
I have learned to depend upon His Word.

I thank God for the mountains,
And I thank Him for the valleys,
I thank Him for the storms He brought me through.
For if I'd never had a problem,
I'd would'nt know that He could solve them,
I'd never know what faith in God could do.

Through it all, Through it all,
I have learned to Trust in Jesus,
I've learned to trust in God.
Through it all, Through it all,
I have learned to depend upon His Word.

A Hike...

It is a BEAUTIFUL Spring in the Canyon! Luke and I drove home yesterday afternoon and marveled at the green grass and colorful flowers that covered the mountain sides! Luke took this picture from the car window....

So this morning Luke and I determined to clime this mountain and get a closer view! Cameras in hand we began our assent....

"For the beauty of the earth,
For the beauty of the skies,
For the love which from our birth
Over and around us lies,
Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our hymn of grateful praise."

"For the beauty of the hour
For the day and for the night,
Hill and vale, and tree and flou'r,
Sun and moon and stars of light,
Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our hymn of grateful praise."

"For the joy of human love,
Brother, sister, parent, child,
Friends on earth, and friends above,
For all gentle thoughts and mild,
Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our hymn of grateful praise."

Back at the car again....
Thankful for God's love and a hike with my brother in God's beautiful creation!

April 15th - REMEMBER

"Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread be eaten." - Exodus 13:3

"But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth: He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare His generation? for He was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was He stricken. And He made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in His death; because He had done no violence, neither was any deceit in His mouth.Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He hath put Him to grief: when thou shalt make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand. He shall see of the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied: by His knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for He shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong; because He hath poured out His soul unto death: and He was numbered with the transgressors; and He bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors." - Isaiah 53:5-12

"For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:" - 1 Corinthians 5:7b

"Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:" - 1 Peter 1:18-19

Genealogy of Jesus

Mom has been on a family heritage campaign the last couple of weeks. In so, she found one of my grandpa's 1st cousins in Florida and her 2nd cousin in Utah who she did not even know existed! She has had so much fun talking to these ladies on the phone finding out lots of interesting family history.
Well, this morning, in my study time of the Messiah from a Jewish perspective I looked at Jesus' family history! It is so exciting to see things in scripture which puts God's Sovereignty and Omniscience on display!
To make a long study short...

Matthew 1:1-17 and Luke 3:23-38
Jesus is seen as the Son of David (King), the Son of Abraham (Jew), the Son of God (Divine) and the Son of Adam (Human).

Jesus Christ is the JEWISH, GOD, MAN, KING!!!!!!!!

Heritage Quilt

I remember as a little girl being read stories like Little House on the Prairie and other stories of such sort and how the ladies would be working on quilt blocks...and I wanted to saw a quilt too! When I was a little older I started on one but needed lots of assistance and it never got very far. I think there may be a box in the closet somewhere with the beginnings of that quilt. Well...I never really thought about sawing much until a couple weeks ago when the Hendersons were down on Sunday. As usual, Aunt Vangie was working on another quilt...this time though the fabric caught my eye as being old fashion. It WAS old fabric and it inspired me! Years ago when my Great Grandmother past away we acquired BOXES of her fabric scraps. They were put high in the rafters of our shop where they set for years. Well, that Sunday night, down came the boxes and I rummaged through to find any scraps that could be incorporated into a vintage style Dresden Plate quilt that I determined to embark on.....

Some of the scraps were very random and tiny and some so old they did not make it through the wash...but it was fun to see what I could get out of each piece! There was only enough of this green poke-a-dot fabric to get one block out of!

It's been fun! :D

The Arrival of a Package!!!!

Papa arrived back from his trip to the mail with an Amazon box under his arm....
"Is that for me?!?!!"
Sure enough, my name was typed on the front of the box!
I love the smell of new books....there is just something about it! And these new books are extra especial!

Learning Hebrew is something I've wanted to do for some time now. My Greek books are well loved...now it's time to dive into the world of Hebrew Studies!
Right now Hebrew just looks like a bunch of markings on a page....but Greek used to as well and now it looks like words with depth of meaning!
I have in no way mastered the Greek language and I am sure I never will until perhaps the Millennial Kingdom :D But I am thankful God gave us the resources to be able to have a taste of these very important languages that He used in giving us His infallibly Word!

Jeremiah gave me this Hebrew Bible for my birthday and I can't wait to be able to read it! Spending some time in these Biblical Languages has, even more importantly, given me a deeper appreciation for the Bible I can open every day and read in my own language and understand it as the Holy Spirit opens the eyes of my understanding to its truth!

"But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ."
1 Corinthians 2:9-16
